Privacy Policy
StreamAscend takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This page explains what data is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data protection law.
Data Controller
The data controller is the publisher of the StreamAscend website, identified in the legal notice. They can be contacted at contact.capsloque@gmail.com for any question regarding your personal data. No Data Protection Officer (DPO) has been appointed; this contact serves as the single point of entry.
Data Collected
Via Twitch Login
Access to the StreamAscend dashboard requires logging in via Twitch's OAuth protocol. Upon login, StreamAscend receives and stores only:
- your Twitch ID and username (login and display name);
- the URL of your Twitch avatar;
- a Twitch access token and refresh token, needed to act on your behalf with the Twitch API (retrieving stats, managing the chat bot, alerts, etc.).
Twitch technically allows us to request your email address, but StreamAscend does not read or store this information: it is never saved in our database.
Content You Create
Schedules, notes, announcements, overlay settings, and customizations you create within the tool are stored to let you use the service and are linked to your Twitch account.
Technical Usage Data
To ensure the service runs properly and to track its usage, we keep:
- the date of your last login to the site;
- the date of your last save action (saving a setting);
- technical request logs (IP address, timestamp, page visited), generated by our hosting provider for the security and technical diagnostics of the service.
"Farms" Module
The community "Farms" module works without a Twitch account: it relies on a freely chosen nickname and a technical cookie (see the cookie policy). No other personal data is associated with this module.

Data Recipients
- Twitch Interactive / Amazon — as part of the OAuth login and API calls made on your behalf.
- OVH SAS — our hosting provider, which stores data on its servers in France.
- Google (Google Analytics / Google Fonts) — only if you have accepted audience measurement cookies, or to load the site's fonts (see the cookie policy). Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework when data is transferred to the United States.
- StreamElements — if you enable an integration related to this service, strictly within the scope of that feature.
Your data is neither sold, nor rented, nor used for advertising purposes by StreamAscend.
Data Retention
- Account data is kept as long as your Twitch account remains linked to the service.
- If you request account deletion by email, your data is erased within a reasonable time, except where legal retention obligations apply.
- Twitch tokens are deleted upon logout or account deletion.
- Technical logs are kept for a limited period necessary for the service's security.
Security
StreamAscend implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connection (HTTPS), httponly session cookies (not accessible via JavaScript), restricted access to data. As no system is infallible, we invite you to report any security flaw you find to contact.capsloque@gmail.com.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- right of access and rectification;
- right to erasure ("right to be forgotten");
- right to restriction of processing;
- right to object;
- right to data portability.
To exercise these rights, write to contact.capsloque@gmail.com, specifying your Twitch username. A response will be provided within one month at the latest.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority), or with your local data protection authority, if you believe the processing of your data does not comply with applicable regulations.
Minors
StreamAscend does not knowingly collect data from minors under 15 without parental consent. Use of the service is subject to Twitch's own terms of use, which set a minimum age for access.
Changes
This privacy policy may be updated to reflect legal or functional changes to the service. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
